How To Add A Guide

Follow these steps to add a guide to the website.

Step 1: Connect your discord profile.

Make sure to connect your discord profile, this helps prevent spam submissions and allows us to correctly credit you as the author. Click here to start that process.

Step 2: Research!

It’s important to make sure that you know the subject you are writing about before attempting to submit a guide. You may have played hundreds of hours on a game and that in itself is research. You may also want to write a guide because you don’t know how to do something, time to have a google, watch some YouTube videos and play some games, knowledge is power!

Step 3: Create a draft guide.

It might be useful to create a draft of your guide before you start the submission process. Sites like google drive provide a perfect way to start writing your guide, get some ideas down and layout a structure ready to submit.

Step 4: Submit your guide.

Now you are ready to submit your guide, this process should be relatively simple, but if you encounter any issues then make sure to send Lynqoid or pMauz a message on Discord and we’ll try and help any way that we can.

To create your guide you will need to add different types of blocks, text, image and video blocks. These make up the structure of your guide and you can use markdown inside text blocks. Markdown allows to you assign special tags to your plain text allowing you to do things like making text bold or underlined. Checkout the markdown cheatsheet for more information.

Text Blocks

Text blocks allow you to use markdown, so you can do things like ** around text to make them bold or ## for H2 tags. This helps you build a good structure to your guide.

Image Blocks

Make sure you use images throughout your guide, this will help the user visualize the information you are giving them and make all the information easier to digest. Screenshots are perfect!

Video Blocks

Video Blocks are a great way to promote your own YouTube content and provide a written guide to accompany it. Sometimes a video is easier to explain a technique or strategy than words and images.

Step 5: Guide Approval

This is it, you’ve hit the big time! Ok so you’ve had your guide approved and it is upon the website, share your guide and then sit back, relax and wait for people to view your guide and start checking out your YouTube and Twitch channels, great work.

Please note: The ability to edit guides will be coming soon, but for now they will be a one-time submission and approved to the site to keep any unwanted content appearing on the site.
