WoW Forever Professions Guide: What's New, Camping & Best Combos
Professions in World of Warcraft: Forever look like Classic on the surface: two primary professions plus Cooking, First Aid and Fishing. Underneath, they’re far more useful. Blizzard has added over 600 new recipes and tied every crafting profession into the new camping system.
Beta information, last checked 22 October 2026.
What’s new
- 600+ new recipes across professions and level ranges.
- Advanced Blueprints drop from dungeon bosses.
- Crafted food now grants a small XP bonus as well as stats. Leveling guide →
- Quality of life:
- A dedicated profession window (default key K) with searchable recipes and recipe tracking.
- An earlier reagent bag slot.
- Gathering starter quests: three mutually exclusive quests teach you a gathering profession. They are Mining for Dummies, Pelt Collecting for Beginners and Wild Harvest. You can learn Mining without leaving your starting zone. See learning gathering without a trainer.
Camping: every profession brings something to the fire
Camping is Forever’s biggest profession change. Blizzard’s 21 October camping blog says Cooking turns the simple Cooking Fire into a Basic Campfire, a shared campsite where nearby players can rest and gain benefits from profession-made camp features.
A Basic Campfire holds up to three camp features, and each player can add one. Anyone sitting or crafting at the camp for at least 1 minute gets the benefits from the other camp features. All camp features need a campfire nearby and share a 1-hour cooldown.
| Profession | Camp feature | Skill | Effect (beta) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cooking | Basic Campfire | 1 | Cooking, plus space for up to 3 camp features |
| First Aid | First Aid Kit | 20 | 3-56 Stamina (level dependent), exclusive with Power Word: Fortitude |
| Fishing | Fishing Bowl | 20 | 8% increased stats, exclusive with Blessing of Kings |
| Alchemy | Mana Well | 20 | 10-29 Mana per 5 seconds, exclusive with Blessing of Wisdom |
| Blacksmithing | Sharpening Wheel | 20 | 6-34 Strength, exclusive with Strength of Earth Totem |
| Enchanting | Enchanted Lute | 20 | 28-260 Armor, 0-13 to all stats and 0-22 to all resistances, exclusive with Mark of the Wild |
| Engineering | Reagent Bot | 20 | Lets you and nearby players buy reagents |
| Herbalism | Incense Candle | 20 | 2-25 Intellect, exclusive with Arcane Intellect |
| Leatherworking | Camp Tent | 20 | Increases Rested experience by 5% of a level, if you are below that |
| Skinning | Camp Chair | 20 | 2% spell and attack critical strike chance, exclusive with Moonkin Aura |
| Tailoring | Faction Banner | 20 | 14-32 Spirit for your faction (level dependent), exclusive with Divine Spirit |
These are variants of class buffs and don’t stack with them. Blizzard lists this as a sample, not every camp feature.
- Your first camp features come from starter-zone quests or a profession trainer once the profession reaches skill 20.
- Items needing skill 140 or higher drop in dungeons and raids.
- Cooks can later learn upgraded campfires holding five or ten objects, and other professions unlock conveniences such as Alchemy Laboratories and Tanning Racks.
- On a PvP ruleset, enemy players who find your camp are a risk.
The result is that groups with a mix of professions get the best camps. That’s a good reason to coordinate professions with your guild.
Recent beta changes (1 October)
- Fewer Poor Copper Veins in starter areas.
- Creatures can be skinned only once again.
- Blacksmithing and Leatherworking dungeon-drop recipes are now available.
- Crafted common and uncommon wands now sell to vendors for 1 copper, closing an Enchanting gold exploit.
Racials for crafters
- Tauren: Cultivation grows a duplicate herb you can harvest without Herbalism.
- Gnome: Engineering Specialization means 20% fewer gadget failures and backfires.
- Dwarf: Find Treasure no longer conflicts with other tracking.
Legacy profession perks

Best profession combos
| Goal | Combo |
|---|---|
| Leveling and gold | Mining + Skinning, or Herbalism + Skinning. Both gathering, sell everything. |
| Self-sufficient leveling | Herbalism + Alchemy |
| Gear upgrades | Mining + Blacksmithing (plate/mail), or Skinning + Leatherworking (leather/mail, plus the Camp Tent) |
| PvP | Engineering + Mining. Gadgets are still king, especially for Gnomes. |
| Group camps | Coordinate with your group so you cover Cooking plus a mix of camp objects. |
Always level Cooking and First Aid too. Cooking runs your campfire, and First Aid bandages save lives in Hardcore.
